Tough Day At The Office!!

Tough day at the office for Erdington RFC today away against Birmingham and Solihull Bees.
It was clear from the first kick off that Bees were going to throw the ball around and use the pacy set of backs, which brought good rewards and a few try’s, however that said Erdington never gave up and too a man kept to there game plan of keeping the game tight in the pack. Dominating all the scrums and we’re awarded a number of penalties but couldn’t turn these into points.
The game turned around 50-0 to Bees.
Second half Erdington upped their physicality and we’re much more dominant in the loose but again could not turn possession and territory into points. Their scrum was pushing the Bees pack backward at pace again being rewarded with a number of penalties.
Bees did increase the score in the second half by another 17 points to bring the final score to 67-0.
Erdington should be proud of their never give up attitude and going forward they should feel comfortable in the knowledge that coming up against a lesser team in future games, will bring much reward and points.
Man of the match today is awarded to the whole team but a special mention must go to Chris Hume and Dan Thewlis who came on to debut today and both looked like they will be fantastic assets to the club in the future.
