Tough final game to see the year out
After getting back to winning ways two weeks ago and having a week off, Erdington’s season continued with a home game against Edwardians 2nd XV.
A solid start to the game with Erdington’s defence holding well and few opportunities being created for either team.
Edwardians broke the deadlock just before half time and were able to score three tries in quick succession. With one conversion the half time score was 0-17.
Second half continued with pressure in Erdington’s 22. Eventually leading to Edwardians scoring after 15 mins. Conversion missed 0-24.
Erdington got on the scoresheet after 55’ minutes as Tom Findon broke from his own 22 to score under the posts. Converted 7-24
Edwardians added further points, missing the conversion, to lead 7-29.
Despite a good opportunity for Erdington to score in the last moment they were unable to convert their chance.
Final score 7-29.
Man of the match performance for Sean Eltringham for his solid tackling and good running with ball in hands.
With Christmas off, the season continues in the new year on January 4th as Yardley and District 2nds are welcomed to Spring Lane in the Greater Birmingham Merit Table.
