Match Report

Away at Woodrush

Erdington had a tough day at the office, playing a really well drilled Woodrush side, although the home team didn’t have it all their own way. Woodrush went ahead early with a couple of well worked tries. Erdington appeared to weather a short storm and held on to some position but unfortunately were undone with a couple of quick turn overs for further Woodrush scores. Just before the turn around Erdington scored after some sustained pressure as Sam Bradley latched on to a mistake and scored an opportunist try which was unconverted. The teams turned around at 42-5 and the second half continued in the same vein with lots of pressure being applied by Woodrush. However Erdington tried to play a more forward based game which brought some reward with some position and a well worked try from scrum half Pav which was converted. A further couple of tries to Woodrush made the final score 68-12.

A hard fought game but Erdington never gave up and should be commended for their grit, determination and fighting spirit. Man of the match was given to Ross Graham.

Erdington will look to get back to winning ways next Saturday at home against Aston Old Edwardians 2nd XV.
