About Erdington Rugby Club
Changing Lives Through Rugby
More than a rugby club. A place to belong, develop and be part of a community.
Who We Are
Erdington Rugby Football Club is a community rugby club based at Spring Lane Playing Fields in Erdington, Birmingham.
We believe rugby should be accessible to everyone, regardless of experience, ability or background.
From children experiencing rugby for the first time to adults looking to stay active and meet new people, ERFC provides a welcoming environment where people can enjoy the game and be part of something bigger.

Our History
Erdington Rugby Club was founded in 1924, beginning more than a century of rugby in the local community.
By the club’s early years, Erdington had established itself at Spring Lane Playing Fields, the ground that would become our home and remains at the heart of the club today.
The earliest known photograph of the first team, taken in 1928, captures many of the founding members who helped shape ERFC during its formative years.
More than 100 years later, a new generation continues that story.

Changing Lives Through Rugby
Rugby is about much more than what happens on the pitch.
Through the game, we aim to help people develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, friendships and a sense of belonging.
In 2019, ERFC made membership free for under-18 players to help remove cost as a barrier to young people participating in rugby.
Our ambition is simple: to make rugby accessible and use the club as a positive force within Erdington and the wider community.
