- Why did you start playing rugby?
My father passed away when I was ten, he was a boxing coach and I used to box at a very young age. But when he sadly passed away I turned to rugby league as one of my childhood friends father asked me to try rugby and it just went from there really.
- How long have you played for ERFC?
I’ve played for ERFC for around two years.
- Why did you choose Erdington RFC?
I came to ERFC because I had some good friends who I used to play with at Aston, Cleggy Jnr & Barney, and it just looked both a good social & a quality team with bundles of talent.
- Any pre-match routines/habits?
Used to be a McDonald’s & a pint, but nowadays it’s a Ribena & something sweet to eat.
- Best rugby memory?
My best rugby memory has to be when I was playing for Aston Old Eds around 7 years ago when we beat Old Halesonians 55-0 at home. They were top of the league, unbeaten & previously smashed us at their ground. I scored a hat-trick and managed to bag myself 32 points as I was a kicker back in them days. The score was insane as we were mostly defending on our try line throughout the games. I think Mr Cleggy Jnr may have been involved in that game as well. It was an incredible day!
- As a forward, what’s your opinion on the ERFC backs?
Well I am a forward but I’ve spent around 10 years playing as a back but our backs are class, hard to keep up with when there’s a quick breakaway but yeah, we have so much talent in our backs.
