June 2025 Update

 

As the weather has warmed the Spitfires have been busy.  In April we celebrated our 6th birthday party bash.  The weather was kind and we celebrated at Spring Lane in the sunshine.  Congratulations to our Winners – Karl for Player’s Player, Manny for Coaches Player and Laurence for Most Improved.  Well done guys and keep up the effort.  Thanks to everyone who volunteers their time to keep the Spitfires Team going!

Not satisfied with just turning up to training a number of Touch Players joined forces with other sections of Erdington Rugby Club and entered the Sutton Fun Run and raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital (www.bch.org.uk) and Star Scheme (www.starscheme.co.uk).

 

We laced up our runners and started pounding the pavement.  We walked, jogged and sometimes ran the 8.5 miles of smiles and raised just over £2,000 for the charities.  In true Spitfires spirit we celebrated as a group and rewarded ourselves with some much needed refreshments.

And finally, we entered a friendly tournament at Earlsdon Rugby Club on 21 June.  3 matches were played and Aaron scored his first tournament try (Well done Aaron).  Much fun was had playing local clubs. Touch Rugby was the ultimate winner and we are all looking forward to doing it again soon.
